The Historical Archive of Crete was founded in 1920 and is housed in a neoclassical building on I. Sfakianakis Street in Chania. It includes a significant volume of files and exhibits representing the history of Crete, who rank it as the first among the regional authorities. In its areas also operates a museum, a historic and folklore section.
