The thought behind the creation of this page was to offer visitors of Chania a chance to hike along some of the most interesting trails of our district and at the same time provide all relevant cultural and historic information and technical details of each route. The school community is in the habit of organising hiking excursions, so why not offer our community a service which is missing?

We start off at Omalos area, at a spot called "Petras Selli" and our bus leaves us in a place after the chapel of Saint Theodoron. This is where the famous “Vasiliki Strata-Royal Walking”of Omalos, a stone-cobbled road, which served for many centuries the communication of residents of Eastern Selino with the Northern areas and Chania.....

A most interesting hiking trail to the western part of Chania, from the historical, orange and lemon-growing village of Alikianos to Vatolakkos. An excursion steeped in scents and history!

Sirikari is located 55km west of Chania and 17km south of Kissamos, in a lush green area with canyons and water streams. From here begins the beautiful canyon of Sirikari leading to the settlement of Polirinia, where the ancient town of Polirinia was built.

The canyon of Diktamos starts 21km east of Chania, next to the village Katochori and ends 8km eastern, at the village Faragi, next to the village of Stylos. Thus, it is also known as Katechori Gorge or Stylos Gorge.
Level: Demanding
The small gorge Vavouledo is located in the region Palaia Roumata, in the Mount Apopigadi in the hinterland of Chania. It forms a “circular” route.
